While remaining true to our mission to serve undergraduate students, the University of Maine at Farmington recognizes the need for K-12 teachers in western Maine to have graduate-level courses available to them — in a location that's convenient for them. (We know of many practicing teachers who have had to travel hours, either to Portland or to Orono, to obtain the graduate-level credits or a Master's degree which is increasingly demanded of them to meet their districts' requirements for advanced study.)
