Innovative Curriculum: Fewer Classes But More In-Depth Learning
Farmington operates under an innovative 4-credit system, similar to what many private liberal arts colleges use. This means that instead of taking five classes per semester, students here are expected to take four.

The beauty of this progressive curriculum is that it allows for even more in-depth learning. Raising academic expectations, engaging students in deeper thinking, and providing students even more opportunities for undergraduate research and internship opportunities.

Preparation for Professional Schools and Graduate School
Here at Farmington, we've developed individualized course "tracks" in each pre-professional area — specific courses identified as ideal for meeting the entrance requirements of medical schools, law schools, and MBA programs.

From Ivy League universities to prestigious research institutions, our students are regularly accepted to some of the finest medical schools, law schools, MBA programs, and graduate schools in the nation. Those schools know from experience that UMF's rigorous liberal arts foundation and specialized pre-professional advising gives our graduates the tools necessary to flourish and succeed at their institutions.
