Majors in the Arts & Sciences
UMF offers dozens of different majors (or “degree programs”) as well as one Certificate Program. The bachelor’s degree requires the completion of 120 or more credits of study, depending on the major, and usually takes four years of full-time study.
Interdisciplinary and Individualized Majors in the College of Arts & Sciences Instead of a major which concentrates on a single subject area, you may choose an interdisciplinary major, such as Geology/Chemistry, which involves two disciplines and may cross departmental lines. Or you may opt to create your own major, called an Individualized major. To apply for this major, contact the Office of the Dean of Arts and Sciences.Bachelor of General Studies The Bachelor of General Studies degree is designed for those who are self-directed and who want flexibility in creating their own college degree.
