Farmington offers dozens of different majors (or “degree programs”) as well as a Ski Industries Certificate program. The bachelor’s degree requires the completion of 120 or more credits of study, depending on the major, and usually takes four years of full-time study.

Interdisciplinary and Individualized Majors In Education, Health, and Rehabilitation
Instead of a major which concentrates on a single subject area, you may choose an interdisciplinary major, such as Geology/Chemistry, which involves two disciplines and may cross departmental lines. Or you may opt to create your own major, called an Individualized major. To apply for this major, contact the Office of the Dean of Arts and Sciences.

Farmington’s small size means our professors really get to know their students. The mentoring relationships UMF professors build with their students offer a unique opportunity to help prepare you for graduate study. At a small school like UMF, our professors know their students well enough to write personalized, detailed recommendations that enhance your graduate or professional school applications. Plus, Farmington students actively participate in research projects, tutoring, and assisting with labs — opportunities often reserved only for grad students at big universities.

Bachelor of General Studies
The Bachelor of General Studies degree is designed for those who are self-directed and who want flexibility in creating their own college degree. To apply for this major, contact the Office of the Dean of Arts and Sciences.
