Early Childhood Education Bachelor's Degree - Cohort Program

University of Maine at Farmington's Off-Campus Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education -- a unique opportunity to complete a bachelor's degree program in Early Childhood Education, designed for working professionals.

Early Childhood Education courses that form the foundation of a UMF B.S. in Early Childhood Education will be taught by University of Maine at Farmington faculty at Southern Maine Community College and other sites. Coursework will also prepare students for the new Maine Birth to Five (081) Certificate. General Education courses required for this bachelor's degree can be taken at a campus of the candidate's choice.

Steps in the Admission Process

Step 1. Apply
To start, you first need to apply to Farmington using the Early Childhood Cohort application (see Cohort application link).

Step 2. Mail us Your Transcripts
Next, have your official transcripts mailed to us. We need your official college transcripts mailed to the University of Maine at Farmington directly from the institution. The minimum cumulative GPA for applicants to this program is 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale). In addition, you must hold an Associate degree or equivalent in Early Childhood Education.
