Below are some Frequently Asked Questions about the Farmington in Four graduation guarantee.
Q: Are Transfer students eligible for Farmington in Four?
A: Transfer student eligibility for Farmington in Four will be based on a transcript analysis performed by each student’s academic advisor.
Q: Can credits earned at other institutions be applied toward Farmington in Four?
A: In most cases, credits earned at other accredited colleges or universities can be applied toward the Farmington in Four graduation guarantee.
Q: How will dropping or adding courses affect students participating in Farmington in Four?
A: The Farmington in Four graduation guarantee is based on the completion of 32 credit hours per academic year. Academic offerings during Winter, May and Summer Terms will often provide students the flexibility to make up courses they may have needed to drop.
Q: How will Farmington in Four affect a student’s ability to be involved with internships or study abroad programs?
A: Internships, study abroad and out-of-the-classroom academic experiences will continue to be a hallmark of the UMF experience and will be planned accordingly with the student’s academic advisor.
Q: What happens if a course required for graduation is no longer offered at UMF?
A: An acceptable alternative or course substitution will be offered.
Q: Will UMF be offering the Farmington in Four graduation guarantee to currently enrolled students?
A: We have not made a formal Farmington in Four commitment for currently enrolled students, but will utilize the same kind of advising planning tools to help assure the timely graduation of all our students.
