UMF Brings Students and Business Professionals Together at Fourth Annual College to Corporate Symposium

FARMINGTON, ME (November 30, 2009)--University of Maine at Farmington
recently featured its fourth annual College to Corporate Symposium. Hosted
by UMF's Business Economics and Pre-MBA programs and the University's
Center for Human Development, the forum brings junior and senior UMF
business students together with Maine business professionals to learn about
current practices and expectations and to create pre-professional
networking opportunities.

Six professionals from leading Maine businesses participated in the
evening's panel discussion and networking session, including: UMF class of
2005 alumnus Justin Hall, from Ameriprise Financial; David Herring, from
Maine Huts &Trails; Rick Martin, from Comfort Inn & Suites; Diane Rogers,
from Wright Express; Kimberly M. Smith, from Enterprise Rent-a-Car; and Bob
Burdick from Reed & Reed, Inc.

Panel members explained the hiring and interviewing process to the
participants, providing the audience with a unique glimpse of how the
process compares among various employers. The audience, which included the
UMF Business and Economics faculty, was treated to a full range of
expectations about dress, decorum and written presentation of both resumes
and cover letters. The employers emphasized the importance of researching
the company and position individuals are interested in applying for and
preparing thoroughly for any interview.

Justin T. Hall; Enterprise Rent-A-Car; Wright Express; the UMF Division of
Social Sciences, Business & Global Studies and the UMF Pre-MBA Program
sponsored the event. For more information about this event or any
