Fitness & Recreation Center
Open 7 days a week, year-round, the on-campus UMF Fitness & Recreation Center is the hub of student health, activity, and now — outdoor recreation.

  • Fully-equipped weight room with free weights and machines
  • A large cardio fitness area with equipment
  • Three multipurpose courts
  • 1/8 mile walking/jogging track
  • 25-yard swimming pool
The Fitness & Recreation Center also offers group fitness classes for all levels and abilities (step-aerobics, spinning, yoga, pilates, water workout, etc.), professional fitness trainers, swim lessons, and more. It's also the home of our popular Intramural sports program.

And Now the Hub of Outdoor Recreation, Too
The UMF Fitness & Recreation Center is also the hub of our new Outdoor Recreation Program. It's where you'll embark on epic outdoor adventures, such as:

  • Hiking Tumbledown Mountain
  • Overnight camping at Gulf Hagas
  • Whitewater rafting the Kennebec River
  • Mountain biking the Carrabassett Rail Trail
  • Skiing at Saddleback
  • Snowboarding at Sugarloaf
  • Snow-tubing at Black Mountain
  • Snowshoeing on the Maine Huts & Trails System
  • Geo-caching locations in Farmington

Intramural Sports
Intramural Sports are where you compete against (and play with) other Farmington students, usually after classes or in the evenings.

Most intramurals here are co-ed and they're a great way to get to know other students and take a well-deserved break from the books. Student participation in intramurals is big. And the fun is huge.
