University of Maine at Farmington

The University of Maine at Farmington is committed to environmental stewardship. In fact, Farmington is one of only two Universities in the nation, along with Cornell University, to be recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council's inaugural Excellence in Green Building Curriculum Recognition Awards and Incentive Grants program. The Education Center, Farmington's second-largest and newest campus building, showcases the school's commitment to sustainable building design, construction, and operation. In addition to being a state-of-the-art classroom facility, the building itself serves as a teaching tool to educate students, teachers and community members about the features of green buildings and how they can make a difference in our daily lives.
