Alumni Theater

This is where UMF’s Theater/Arts program is housed and where the University’s student theater organization, Theatre UMF, calls home. Theatre UMF presents 4-5 productions each year and auditions are open to all UMF students—giving everyone an equal chance to gain acting experience and hands-on technical experience, such as working on sets, lights, props, publicity, sound, makeup, and costumes. Theatre UMF is also proud of its strong directing program (something usually available only to grad students at large universities). Alumni Theater, itself, is a versatile “black box” facility in which almost every staging configuration has been presented. It has a computerized lighting system and up-to-date sound equipment. While UMF has a Theater/Arts major, many Theatre UMF students have other majors. Every UMF student can attend plays free of charge.
