Ricker Addition
Ricker Addition (actually a stand-alone building) houses several classrooms, a “smart classroom,” and more. But the real showpiece is the entire downstairs — the on-campus UMF Nursery School & Pre-Kindergarten Program, and Infant-Toddler Playgroup Program. To the left is the UMF Nursery School & Pre-K Program, where UMF Early Childhood Ed. students get hands-on experience working with local 3-5 year olds. To the right is where the UMF Infant-Toddler Playgroup Program is held, a place for UMF students to work with local parents and their very young children in a hands-on interactive playgroup setting. In between is an observation room where students can see how in-the-class child development theories are played out in real life situations. Few colleges have an on-site learning facility like this — or one this good.
